healthy skin starts from within

We’re healing skin differently. Not with injectables or cosmetic treatments, but with trusted, medical procedures designed to give you the best care -- no matter the condition you’re experiencing.

what we treat

  • Skin cancer screenings are an important way to detect skin cancer at an early stage to ensure effective and safe treatment. A dermatoscope and close visual evaluation of the skin is used to determine if there are any suspicious lesions.

People at higher risk for skin cancer include: those with a personal or family history of skin cancer, people taking immune-suppressing medication, people with a history of blistering sun burns or tanning bed use. The frequency of screenings depends on these risk factors. If you are not sure if you need a skin cancer screening, speak with your primary care physician.

  • “HS,” is an inflammatory condition that causes individuals to make cysts and tracts in the skin folds near body creases. It tends to run in families and start in adolescence. There are a growing number of FDA-approved medications, as well as numerous prescriptions and life-style interventions that can help to get the disease under control.

  • Eczema also known as “atopic dermatitis” is an inflammatory skin condition in which patients suffer from itchy, often red, skin. It can start in newborns, and can affect patients of any age. There are numerous treatments from topical therapies to phototherapy to biologic medications.

  • While acne is a common problem, there are many treatments that can help manage this frustrating condition. Some acne is more severe and responds very well to prescription medication. It is a myth that acne just affects teenagers, and many adults struggle with acne on their face, chest, and back.

  • Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition, in which skin cells turn over too quickly. It often presents in red patches on knees and elbows, although this can vary greatly person to person. There are numerous topical and systemic therapies to control the disease, and new medications are being approved every year.

  • Alopecia- or hair loss- can take many forms. It can be caused by underlying health conditions, related to aging, or even caused by the immune system. Evaluation for hair loss, can involve an examination, bloodwork, or even a biopsy to help determine the cause of the loss. Once the cause is discovered, an appropriate treatment can be prescribed.

  • Just like we can be allergic to cats or pollen, our skin can develop allergies to materials and products we come in contact with. Skin-based allergies caused a rash known as allergic contact dermatitis. Here at Elite Dermatology Physicians, we perform extensive Allergic Patch Testing, to determine what may be causing the allergic contact dermatitis.

  • Molluscum is a common viral illness often shared among children. It can be spread on shared surfaces, and enter through any breaks in the skin. While many cases can be minimal, others can be more extensive. Dermatologists have treatments to restore clear skin.

  • Eczema also known as “atopic dermatitis” is an inflammatory skin condition in which patients suffer from itchy, often red, skin. It can start very early, even within the first few months of life. There is often a family history of eczema, asthma, or allergies. There are numerous treatments from topical therapies to phototherapy to biologic medications.

  • Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition, in which skin cells turn over too quickly. It can start early in childhood, when it can even show up as a difficult to treat diaper rash. It often presents in red patches on knees and elbows, although this can vary greatly person to person. There are numerous topical and systemic therapies to control the disease, and new medications are being approved every year.

  • Common warts are small skin infections with the HPV virus. They are contagious between people and from shared surfaces. Without treatment, many warts resolve in months to years. However, there are numerous treatment options that can help speed up the resolution of these pesky skin lesions.

  • Impetigo is a superficial skin infection with a staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It causes superficial breakdown in the skin, which is often pink or red with crusting. It can be more severe in children already suffering from eczema, or who have a compromised immune system.

  • Children in general tend to suffer from more rashes than adults. Many things kids encounter a lot- from vaccines to viral illnesses- can trigger itchy and uncomfortable rashes. We pride ourselves in working with our local pediatricians to help diagnose and treat rashes of all kinds.
